Dear participants,
We've done the selection to choose works that will take part in the 3rd JIMB 2018 exhibition. It started on October 28th, 2018 at 2 pm at JIMB Secretariat, Miracle Prints, Suryodiningratan MJ II / 853, Mantrijeron Yogyakarta 55141, Indonesia. The competition jury composed of A. Sujud Dartanto (chairman), Malcolm Smith, and Deni Rahman selects the finalists from 148 participants from 32 different countries who submitted over 345 prints. The process is extended until October 30th, 2018 because of waiting for some international participant's works arrived.
The selection process took long quality debates among the jurors After long day of jurying, we selected 117 works to be given the opportunity to exhibit in the 3rd JIMB 2018. We have 15 Indonesian finalists and 50 international finalists. As for the prize-winning pieces will be announced at opening night of exhibition, on November 20th, 2018 at Museum Dan Tanah Liat (MDTL), Dusun Kersan RT 02, Tirtonirmolo, Kasihan-Bantul, Yogyakarta, 55181, Indonesia. In addition, we also invited 29 international participants from two largest contributing countries: People’s Republic of China and Philippines as the guest artists in the event. Their works not took part of the selection process.
We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all of those who participated in the 3rd JIMB. Congratulation to the finalists! To those who didn't get the opportunity this time, we encourage you to join our next events, and we wish you success in the future.

OPEN CALL & RECEIVING WORKS POSPONED UNTIL 26 OCTOBER 2018 Works selected by the jury will be included in the 3rd JIMB 2018 exhibition and will also be eligible for the following prizes: -The THREE BEST WORKS will receive cash prizes in the following amounts Rp. 4.000.000, a trophy and certificate and an opportunity to participate the 33 PRINTS exhibition to be held in 2019 (3 winners). -Three EXCELLENCE WORKS will receive cash awards of Rp. 1.500.000 and a certificate (3 winners) -And additional pize winner, SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL JURY will receive cash awards of Rp. 1000.000 and a certificate (1 winner) All finalists will receive a certificate. |

The Jogja International Miniprint Biennale (JIMB) jury has chosen “Message from the Matrix” as the theme of the 3rd 2018 Biennale. The theme reflects the jury’s perspective which considers the importance of the issue of the character and excellence of duplicative printmaking, where each edition of a work is of the same quality as original works. In the vocabulary of printmaking, matrix is another name for a physical surface where a picture which is drawn, like a woodblock, plate, stone, or screen can be reproduced in multiple quantities. It is from this point of view of that JIMB 2018 invites participants to respond to the issue of matrix, both ‘matrix’ as a term characteristic of printmaking as well as to the philosophy of matrix itself. continue read

ANNOUNCEMENT Selection Result
Dear participants,
Thank you for your participation in the 2nd JIMB 2016. By the deadline of submission, we have received applications from 165 artists from 31 countries including Indonesia.
We have to extend the selection time in order to give a chance to artists, especially from overseas whose printworks arrive late because of shipping procedures. The selection has been done on 24 May 2016 at Kebun Bibi, Jl. Minggiran 62 A, MJ. II, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta, Indonesia and has been followed by 147 artists from 30 countries totaling 331 printworks.
The jury team whose chairperson is Agung Kurniawan, Sujud Dartanto and Andang Suprihadi as members, have worked very hard and finally selected 77 artists from 28 countries totaling 110 printworks as finalists and having rights to join the exhibition.
The 3 Best Winners and 2 Consolation Prize Winners will be announced at the opening of the 2nd JIMB 2016 on 24th May 2016, at 19:00, at Sangkring Art Project Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
We congratulate all the finalists and for those who have not been fortunate yet, we are truly sorry. We encourage you to participate again. As we have planned and as in the first biennale, printworks which are not selected and arrive late will be chosen by committee to be exhibited in “Relation in Print #2”. This exhibition will be held at the same time as the 2nd JIMB, but at separate venue. The list of the participants will be notified later.
